Thomas Tuchel Celebrates a Year in The Job:

January 26th saw Thomas Tuchel celebrate a year in charge of Chelsea after he succeeded Frank Lampard last year.

The German will surely be happy with most aspects of his first year in England as he become the first manager to lead The Blues to the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup final.

He may be disappointed with the goals scored in the 43 league games as Chelsea have only scored 31 times. However, Chelsea’s results have certainly exceeded expectations, with fans looking forward to what the future holds with Tuchel in charge.

Transfer Window Closes:

As the January transfer window closes. Chelsea, at the time of writing have made no additions to the squad.

Tino Anjorin is the only player to so far leave the squad, with 20-year-old joining Championship side Huddersfield on loan until the end of the season.

Away from Stamford Bridge, Blues legend Frank Lampard has also today signed as the manager of Everton – signing a contract until 2024.

Back in Action:

The FA Cup has been generous to Chelsea once again with a home game against Plymouth Argyle in the upcoming fourth round. As perhaps expected, The Blues have a good record against The Green Army from Devon, playing them 17 times whilst suffering just two defeats.

In the FA Cup, the two sides have played five times with Chelsea winning three of the five games. The Blues scored eight times and are nyet to taste defeat to Saturday’s opponents.
