Blue Mondays: Blues 2/2 With a Trip Out of London Next Up

Chelsea win back-to-back London derbies and are now ready to march onto Anfield.

Revenge Against the Arsenal:

The champions of Europe travelled to the Emirates looking for revenge on a side that did the double over them in the previous season. With an impressive 2-0 victory, Thomas Tuchel’s side did exactly that.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Reece James in the first half gave Chelsea ensured that the Blues secured all three points from the London derby, leaving their rivals without a point from their first two games.

UEFA are Calling:

On Thursday 26th August, all eyes will be on the Champions League draw in Istanbul, Turkey. Here we will find out the teams that we will meet in the group stages of this year's competition as the Blues aim to defend the trophy that was clinched in Porto in May.

During the draw, the awards for individual players of the 2020/21 season will be announced and Chelsea are well represented. UEFA Mens Player of The Year has both Jorghino and N’Golo Kanté as nominees, with Thomas Tuchel and Emma Hayes also in contention for the both the Men and Women’s Coach of The Year awards. We also have numerous candidates for each individual position.

Good luck to all involved.

A Day Away From London:

Thanks to the kind souls that organise the TV games, Chelsea’s first game outside of London this season is a Bank Holiday weekend trip to Anfield.

This has never been a particular happy hunting ground for the Blues, who have only won 12 of the 78 league games that played against the Reds in Merseyside. However, last year was one of those, as a Mason Mount goal gave us all three points.

A victory in this game will give us our 600th Premier League win, with only Manchester United ahead.
